Steps

  1. Verify that Greece is the sole or main destination of the stay (by duration or purpose); otherwise, the application falls under another Schengen State.
  2. Apply to the Greek consular authority, or to the foreign authority authorized to issue visas for Greece, with jurisdiction over the place of legal residence.
  3. Make an appointment if the consulate requires it, then submit the application no earlier than six months and, as a general rule, no later than 15 calendar days before the start of the trip.
  4. Appear in person when submitting the application to have fingerprints taken, unless they were recorded in the VIS less than 59 months ago.
  5. Submit the signed form, the passport, the photograph, the supporting documents and the proof of travel medical insurance.
  6. Pay the visa fee: an application without payment is inadmissible and is not examined.
