Steps

  1. Check that the category C short-stay visa corresponds to the trip (planned stay of 90 days at most over 180, purpose other than immigration) and that no exemption cited by the page applies.
  2. Contact in advance the embassy or consulate of Cyprus where the application will be submitted, to obtain information and instructions.
  3. Identify the competent Cypriot diplomatic mission or consulate, or the most accessible one, in your country of habitual residence, or the centre to which it directs you. Submission elsewhere, in particular in a country of transit to Cyprus, must be duly justified
  4. Complete and sign the visa application form (fields 25, 26 and 28 are not required).
  5. Gather the supporting documents listed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  6. Submit the application no earlier than 6 months and no later than 15 days before the planned date of arrival in Cyprus.
  7. Pay the visa fee at the time of submission and keep the receipt.
  8. Wait for the decision: usually 15 days, up to 45 days if the file requires a more in-depth examination.
  9. When the passport is returned, check the visa sticker and immediately report any error to the consular authority.
