Where and how to apply

The site of the Directorate General of Immigration brings together the services intended for foreign nationals and links to the official electronic visa portal, to the electronic visa on arrival application page and to application status tracking. The application is therefore filed online on that portal.

It specifies that an electronic visa on arrival application can be made for five people at once, and offers an online tracking function as well as a visa extension.

The immigration site also publishes a directory of visa types and a frequently asked questions page devoted to visas, which lists the documents expected depending on the route chosen.

Steps in the procedure

  1. Consult the official list of Indonesian visas and select the category matching the purpose of the stay.
  2. Prepare the documents required for the category selected, as indicated by the e-Visa portal.
  3. File the application online on the official electronic visa portal.
  4. Pay the visa fee through SIMPONI or by Mastercard, Visa or JCB credit or debit card.
  5. Track the status of the application online; the authority decides on issuance.
  6. Once the application is approved, download the visa using the link sent by email.
  7. Submit the arrival card within the three days preceding arrival in Indonesia.
