- Identify the competent office: the Luxembourg mission in the country of legal residence or, failing that, the embassy or consulate of the Schengen State that represents Luxembourg there.
- If a person residing in Luxembourg acts as guarantor, they have the undertaking of support (MyGuichet.lu or paper form) drawn up and send it to the applicant once approved by the Ministry.
- Submit the completed and signed application in person with the supporting documents, at least 15 calendar days before the visit and no earlier than 6 months before it begins.
- Wait for the decision: 15 calendar days as a general rule, up to 30 days (in-depth examination or representing State) and exceptionally 45 days.
- If the visa is granted, it is affixed to the passport in the form of a sticker; a refusal is notified by the consulate.
- At the external border, present evidence that the entry conditions are met.
- Within 3 days of arrival, make an arrival declaration at the commune of the place of stay or fill in an accommodation form with the accommodation establishment.
