Steps

  1. Check that your nationality appears in section 8 of the guidelines: the visa then cannot be obtained on arrival and must be applied for online, unless approved by the Commissioner General of Immigration.
  2. Submit the application at least two months before the trip, without buying a ticket or booking accommodation before approval.
  3. On www.immigration.go.tz, open "e-Services" then "e-Visa Application Form", log in with your email address and note the identification number received by email.
  4. Complete the form, upload the photo and attach the documents, including the letter addressed to the Commissioner General of Immigration and the trip itinerary.
  5. After the payment notification, pay the fees by Visa or Mastercard, then send the application and wait for the confirmation message.
  6. Track the application on the portal using your application identification number; an interview may be requested at the nearest embassy.
  7. Wait for the visa grant notice before departing; if it does not arrive by email, download it from the portal ("check application status").
  8. On arrival, present the return ticket at the point of entry.
