Documented visa types

Tourist e-Visa
Online application for eligible profiles. The portal presents a multiple-entry visa valid 1 year, for a stay of up to 90 days; respect the conditions actually granted. Official page (new tab)
Visa on arrival

Find the procedure matching your situation

Start with the Visit Saudi selector. Nationality, residence in a Gulf Cooperation Council country, or certain visas and residence permits may change the possibilities. Each branch has its own supporting documents; a condition of one route does not automatically apply to another.

For study, work, residence or non-tourist visits, open the corresponding service in the ministry's catalogue. An invitation or a procedure initiated by a sponsor does not replace the visa actually issued.

Prepare a tourist application

  1. Choose your nationality and declare your situation in the official selector.
  2. Read the conditions of the proposed route, particularly those of the visas or residence permits used as supporting documents.
  3. Open the portal or contact the indicated post, then enter the information exactly as on the passport.
  4. Check the total amount, insurance and payment conditions before submitting.
  5. After approval, keep the visa and the documents required for entry control.

Documents depend on the route

The selector provides in particular a passport validity exception for US citizens. For minors, check separately who must submit the application and the travel conditions.

Price, insurance and processing time

The total depends on the route. The selector distinguishes visa fees and medical insurance, included in some rates and billed separately in others. For a package, also examine the travel price and the mandatory services.

Payment does not guarantee approval. The e-Visa portal conditions provide for non-refundable fees after submission, including in case of refusal. Check the time specific to the chosen service; no single time limit covers all visas.

After the visa is issued

Check the dates, number of entries and duration of stay shown on the document. A validity of 1 year does not allow you to stay 1 year without interruption. The e-Visa portal states that the visa cannot be extended.

Entry authorization remains subject to border control. Provide the resources necessary for yourself and your dependents; a tourist visa does not authorize paid employment.

Umrah, Hajj and other projects

Tourism may include Umrah, with the applicable bookings and authorizations; the selector refers to Nusuk for the appointment. Hajj follows a separate procedure. Check access and period restrictions before booking.

The ministry catalogue contains separate services for Umrah and Hajj, family or personal visits, business, medical treatment, study and work. Follow the conditions of the chosen service; tourist steps are not a document list for these other projects.

Can I apply for the tourist visa online?

Check the route proposed for your nationality and residence in the official selector. Holding a foreign visa is not enough by itself: additional conditions may apply.

Can I rely on a visa on arrival?

Only if you meet the conditions of this route. Check them before departure, with the required supporting documents.

Is insurance included in the fees?

It depends on the route. The selector distinguishes rates that include insurance from those to which it must be added.

Does the tourist visa permit Umrah and Hajj?

It may permit Umrah under the applicable formalities. Hajj requires its own procedure.

Can I extend my tourist e-Visa?

The e-Visa portal conditions state that it cannot be extended. Respect the authorized duration and dates.

How do I prepare a study or work stay?

Choose the dedicated service in the catalogue of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The tourist visa does not replace the authorizations required for your project.
